There is no doubt that social media is, and will continue to serve the majority of the globe as the focal point for marketers over the next financial year, but there is more than meets the eye when looking at marketing.
Studies have shown that there are record amounts of enterprise growth in social over the last quarter, so where does social media marketing go from here? What are the secrets that differentiate firms who propose that they are 'the best'?
In a recent post I created a short read about how accessible it is for Gen Z to monetise social media (because they have grown up with it). With that in mind, there are countless social media firms who just believe that likes and followers are the driving mechanism for prosperity, which in the short-term is somewhat correct, however it isn't in the long-term.
Social media marketers have to understand the needs, objectives, values, mission and design that their clients are actually looking for. This is just part of my Small Business Development Program where it details that the main objective of social is to connect, rather than simply present. In concurring that the connection between B2C is so important, it then comes down to the effectiveness and just how strong the connection is. If we use the scenario of WiFi, we are all a lot happier with stronger connection... This is exactly the same with B2C!
As well as just the connection and effectiveness, then comes to realisation that you will eventually have to diversify or you lose - it's that simple. Leading your viewers along the same platform, staying on the same plinth for a sustained time eventually becomes boring, and that is oone of the most dangerous effects that social media can have towards a business. Hence, it is incredibly important to maintain a strong, effective relationship with your viewers over the sustained period of time.
