I've been meaning to make a post like this for a while and I think it is very important to read. Too many people are thinking unnecessarily SMALL and then they get annoyed when their return is SMALL...
When I was 4-years-old I remember seeing the centre of Sydney and thinking 'wow' and 'I wish I could go up there one day'. Little did I know at the time that with hard work and passion for the process, I soon could.
The truth is that there are an overwhelming amount of people with a paycheck-to-paycheck attitude and then they wonder why their outcome isn't good enough - it all comes down to the mentality. You've probably heard the saying 'work hard and someday you'll get there' - well in part, I tend to disagree. Half of the successful outcome comes from the successful mentality, and the successful process - not the smoke and mirror get-rich-quick nonsense that surrounds us all the time.
I recently made out a sale to a lady in the US and she made the comment: "You know, it's pretty different to have a 17-year old who is in his exams to be making international business calls." Things including location and age have never been restraints to me, rather, they have always stayed on my optimistic side. If you told me tomorrow that I would be able to fulfill my obligation to achieve my legacy, in a different city, there would only be a couple of small, yet very important things in my way. Besides, how many other 17-year-old students are going to make that call?
Think about it.
I think that if you are to resonate small thinking (whether it be through your own factors of things such as finance, time, the process etc.) with the outcome of an excuse, you are never going to fulfill the outcome of an achievement. When the 4-year-old Tom Ryan was looking up towards the penthouses of George St, he didn't focus on the people in the way, he just focused on the stairs - this is the mentality that you need, not the 'maybe some day I'll get there'.
I'm constantly faced with the 5-minute success stories, and more to the point, I'm also faced with the millions of people who are bone lazy and not willing to have the successful mentality needed, in order to achieve these fake setups. We can all derive something from this:
" Don't settle or negotiate the outcome of your success in life based on the indoctrinated reality of the person giving you their personal opinion.
Make sure that you stay aligned with your own values, and reinforce the nature of why you are doing it, every step of the way.
