Casey Neistat is an American filmmaker who recently ended his two year streak of daily vlog uploads on YouTube. These are some lessons we can take away from that decision.
1. Changing What Works
If you are willing to change the direction of something in the midst of success - what's the point? To appropriate this into a business setting, why would a business owner change their objectives if their goals are being completed?
There are two answers; either the business is wanting to diversify, and/or they are seeking to disrupt their customer base. Not only do these both pose a significant threat to the future successes of the organisation, they further contradict customers' opinions and loyalty with the business. Neitstat's move to diversify has taken his follower base by storm, and it has meant that his professional objectives have been misconstrued among his portfolio in industry.
This isn't a matter of questioning whether you should move forward, it's simply questioning whether your first step will be sidewards.
Your life is your message to the world.
